Terms & Conditions

Effective Date: October 2026

Novacrochet lives at novacrochet.com, and this page lays out the terms that come with using it, browsing the patterns, grabbing a free download, all of it. Once you’re on the site or you’ve pulled a pattern, you’re working within these terms and conditions, whether you’ve read every word or not. Not into that? Simplest thing is to close the tab.

Use of the Website

Everything on Novacrochet, patterns, photos, tutorials, written content, is here for your personal use and enjoyment. You’re welcome to:

  • Download and use any pattern we publish, including ones you get through our free pattern signup
  • Share a link to our site or a specific page on social media or elsewhere, as long as you’re not copying the text or images directly

You may not:

  • Take our patterns, photos, or written content, copy it, republish it, pass it along under your own name, whether that’s the whole thing or just a chunk of it
  • Repost our pattern instructions or tutorial steps on another site or inside a paid product

Use of Patterns

Here’s the part most crocheters actually want to know: yes, you can sell finished items you make from a Novacrochet pattern. The pattern itself, the written instructions, the photos, the layout, stays ours. What you make with your own hands, time, and yarn is yours to keep, gift, or sell.

If you do sell what you make, we just ask for a simple credit, something like “Pattern by Novacrochet” on your listing or tag.

It costs you nothing, and it keeps things fair on both sides. Where the line actually sits: don’t sell or hand off the pattern itself, the PDF, the written steps, the photos, as if you dreamed it up yourself. That’s the one rule here that really matters.

Intellectual Property

The designs, photos, graphics, and written content you find on this site are Novacrochet’s, original work, unless we’ve flagged something otherwise. Grab a pattern and what you’re getting is a license: use it yourself, sell what you make from it, exactly as laid out above. The design itself, though, stays ours, downloading it doesn’t sign that over to you.

User Conduct

Novacrochet doesn’t currently have comments, accounts, or other community features. If we add them later, this section will be updated with the rules that apply then, check back here before posting anything on the site.

Third-Party Links

Our site links out to places like Pinterest, and may in the future include affiliate links, for example to Amazon. We don’t control those sites and aren’t responsible for what’s on them. Any affiliate relationship will be disclosed clearly wherever it applies, separately from this page.

No Warranties

What you find here, patterns, tutorials, advice, comes as-is. We do test every pattern before it goes up, but crochet has too many variables on your end: your gauge, the yarn you picked, how much practice you’ve got behind you. So we can’t guarantee your finished piece will look exactly like the photo, and if a project eats up yarn, time, or materials and still doesn’t come out the way you pictured it, that’s not on us.

Limitation of Liability

To the extent the law allows, Novacrochet isn’t liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages from your use of this site or its content, including pattern errors or interruptions to the site itself.

Changes to These Terms

These terms won’t stay frozen forever, the site will grow, things will need clarifying, and we’ll update this page to match. Whatever’s live here at any given moment is the version that counts. Keep using the site after we’ve changed something, and that counts as you accepting it, whether you actually read the update or not.

Governing Law

United States law is what governs these terms, and we’re not invoking any conflict-of-law rules to point somewhere else.

Contact

Questions about these terms can be sent to contact@novacrochet.com. Maren, who oversees Novacrochet, handles these directly.

Terms and Conditions: Frequently Asked Questions

Can I sell items I make from a Novacrochet pattern?

Go for it. Once you’ve made the thing, it’s yours, do whatever you want with it. Selling it is fine. So is gifting it, keeping it, whatever. Just tag us as the pattern source when you list it; that’s the only ask.

Do I need permission first if I want to sell what I made?

Nope, no need to check in with us first. That only applies to the finished item, not the pattern itself.

Can I use a Novacrochet pattern to make my own tutorial or video?

Not without asking first. Teaching a pattern step by step isn’t the same as selling something you crocheted from it, get in touch and we’ll figure it out together.

Can I repost your pattern text or photos on my own site?

No. Link to the page all you like, but the written pattern and the photos stay ours.
