Your Privacy Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Effective Date: October 2026

This page (GDPR & CCPA) covers one thing: the rights you have over your personal data, and how to actually use them. It doesn’t repeat what data we collect, how we use it, or which third parties we work with, our Privacy Policy already covers that, and we’d rather point you there than write it twice and risk the two pages disagreeing with each other down the line.

If you’re in the EU or UK

GDPR gives you several rights, and you don’t need to explain yourself to use any of them.

  • Access, ask what personal data we hold on you, and we’ll tell you.
  • Correction, flag anything wrong or outdated, and we’ll fix it.
  • Deletion, ask us to erase your data. We will, unless there’s a legal reason we need to hold onto part of it.
  • Restriction, ask us to pause certain uses of your data while something gets sorted out between us.
  • Portability, request your data in a format you can take somewhere else.
  • Objection, object to specific uses, marketing included.

Email contact@novacrochet.com and tell us which one you want. Most requests get handled inside a month, if yours needs more time, we’ll say so and tell you why. There’s no fee for any of it, and you don’t owe us a justification beyond wanting it done.

If you’re ever unhappy with how we’ve handled a request, you can also take it to your country’s data protection authority. We’d rather you came to us first and gave us a chance to sort it out, but that right is yours regardless of what we’d prefer.

If you’re in California

CCPA covers different ground, but it lands in a similar place. You can:

  • Find out what personal information we’ve collected and where it came from.
  • Ask for it to be deleted.
  • Opt out of its sale or sharing. We don’t sell data, period, but the law defines “sharing” broadly enough that our ad and analytics tools technically fall under it, so the right still applies even though the practical answer is “we don’t sell anything.”
  • Exercise any of this without being punished for it. We won’t charge you more, degrade your experience, or shut you out of anything because you sent us a request.

Same address for this one: contact@novacrochet.com. We might ask a question or two first, just enough to confirm the request is actually coming from you.

On verification

Before we act on a request under either law, we need to know it’s actually you. Most of the time that’s nothing more than replying from the email address tied to your account. If someone’s asking on your behalf instead, say so up front, we’ll figure out what proof makes sense case by case.

Outside the EU, UK, or California

These two laws are the ones this page is formally built around, since they’re the ones with teeth. But a request is a request. If you’re writing in from somewhere else asking us to delete or correct your data, we’re not going to check a map before responding, we’ll handle it the same way we would anywhere else.
